More Executive news

Over the weekend another of the recently elected executive members resigned from the executive. Mr. Noel Keating (5th Dan) unfortunately is the 3rd person to resign from the group elected by default on the 8th of September this year.

(September 12, 2001)
Executive

We received this today. Unfortunately it seems that a second member of the recently elected executive has resigned.

Dear Webmaster

Can you formally post my resignation from the recently elected Executive Council of the Australian International Taekwondo Federation.  After much deliberation, I believe it is in my best interests and the interests of the NGB that I withdraw from the Executive Council.  My letter of Resignation has been forwarded to Master Leong Wai Meng, as well as to the other Council Members.

Respectfully

Steven Luxmoore
4th Dan

Congress

The election at the ITF Australian Congress was very close with Mr. Muletta and Mr. Moore tied for the position of presidency. The vote went to a tiebreaker with Mr. Moore being elected. The executive were elected by default and were Master Paul Cuttler, Mr. Steve Luxmore, Mr. Noel Keating and Mrs. Trish Rounthwaite.

Unfortunately we have however been informed that Master Paul Cuttler has resigned from the executive.

Formal Congress Dinner

A note from the Congress Organiser regarding the Formal Dinner on Saturday night,

As previously mentioned there will be a formal dinner hosted by Master Leong on Saturday evening following the congress. Drinks may be purchased from the bar from 7:00pm, and the dinner will be served at 7:30. There is a set menu, however if anybody has any special dietry requirements, then please let the congress organiser know. The dinner will be in the Kentia Room, which is also the venue for the congress. Dress will be collar and tie, and the cost is $27 per person.

Payment must be made to Mr. C. Birch prior to the dinner. If you would like to attend and you haven't already let the congress organiser know, then you will need to contact Mr. Birch by 10pm Thursday evening. Final numbers are required by the restaraunt by 9am Friday morning.

Bookings cannot be delayed until after the elections as the dinner is being specially catered for, and besides, this an opportunity for ITF colleagues to meet each other informally in a very plesant social environment. The restaraunt will charge us for the number we book regardless of whether those places are filled or not. So we will therefore only be booking place-settings for those who confirm their attendance at the dinner by Thursday evening.

Payment will need to be made before congress starts at 8:30 Saturday morning, and entry will be by ticket only.

C. Birch

Congress & Nationals Confusion

There has recently been some confusion over the Congress and Nationals being held in Brisbane on September the 7th, 8th and 9th. We are pleased to confirm that the Congress will be held on the 8th of September despite claims that the date has been changed. Master Leong Wai Meng has written 2 letters designed to address the confusion over the matter, and he has requested that these are forwarded on to every known ITF Instructor and senior in Australia. Should you wish to have copies of these two letters sent to you then please contact us via email ... admin@itfaustralia.com

The Congress will be going ahead, and Master Leong Wai Meng has confirmed that it still has the full backing of the ITF. Accommodation is available at the Congress venue and details are outlined in an open letter from the organiser of the Congress - Mr. C. Birch. To view that letter in word format, please click -here-

Feedback

Thankyou for the great feedback many of you have given us about the improved functionality and design of the Australian ITF Website! If you seem to still be getting the old website in sections (a white background rather than a green one), then you will need to refresh the page.

We are presently getting just over 1000 Unique visitors a day, and many schools have told us that they have had new students as a result of their listing! We are presently top listed in the Yahoo Directory (Biggest search directory on the net), and can easily be found by all ITF Practitioners with an internet connection! With the new sections added, this makes the Australian ITF Website one of the best resources for Australian ITF students and schools.
